  This is clearly wanting to have it both ways. She's touting him as a model Witness because he died from refusing blood, but she is using "worldly" courts to continue to milk collect money from his "worldly" employer.

  One point not discussed is why did the guy have an accident? His truck "inexplicably" went off the road. Was it a problem with the truck or a problem with the driver? Is the employer liable for poor driving on the part of the deceased?

  I think the employer paid enough money to the widow. The man clearly died because he refused treatment, not because of the accident.

  Dave, the harvesting issue is a non-issue because it will never happen...

  The Mighty Led Zeppelin Soars Again !!

  i know brent r. had a thread on this yesterday or day before , but in honor of my personal all-time favorite group, i had to write a few things here !

  if some of you have seen the u-tube of them performing songs with john bonham's son jason on drums , it was an incredible performance !

  watching their expertise on " stairway to heaven " and " kashmir " was like being back in high school again, like they never went away !

  i saw a hysterical far side comic yesterday at the dentist's office.

  it was the blob family.

  I saw a hysterical Far Side comic yesterday at the dentist's office. It was the Blob family. Daddy Blob was looking out the window at two nicely dressed people walking towards their house. He yelled "Jehovah's Witnesses! Quick, pretend you're bean bag chairs!". It cracked me up.

  When I got home, I shared what I had seen with Mr. Witness. At first he didn't laugh, but then he thought about it and did see how funny it was. He said "we call that 'home but hiding'". Then he said, and here's where I need opinions..."they're not saying 'No' to me..." implying they're saying no to his wonderful message.

  I wanted to scream because this is like a mom telling her fat daughter that she's just chubby or her nerdy son that the girls don't know what they're missing. It sounded so much like something his mom had drilled into his head that I wanted to shake him! I was so disgusted, I didn't say anything.

  i struggle, here and elsewhere, to explain my violent reaction against unsubstantiated claims.

  after all, the believer produces testimonals and "scientific" evidence to support their belief.

  my acceptance of saccharin and aspartame has been challenged, for instance.

  I'm with Carla, we need a "generation for dummies". So, let me get the chronology (sorry if I'm redundant): pre-1995, generation meant 1914 people, 1995-Feb 2008 it meant people who were resistant to God, and, finally, Feb 2008 it means the disciples?

  The disciples are dead, right, I mean, surely the WT isn't going to come out and say they've been resurrected or something and are sitting on the GB? I'M SO CONFUSED! And if the disciples have "passed away" what does that mean? It's just not logical, Captain.

  Funny thing is, I've always argued with hubby that Jesus was talking about the destruction of Jerusalem in those passages and it seems like the WT got close to that, then veered of into la-la land by inferring that some weird "John" class are the modern-day disciples. UGH, it makes my head hurt.

  How many dubs really understand this junk? I don't. I probably would understand it if my eyes didn't glaze over after a paragraph or two.

  Just so I'm clear, as a non-Dub, the current generation light is that "the generation" is the generation of 1914 people, right?
